Meet Our Principals

Kristina Duffy

Kris launched Venture Media (then Venture Productions) in 1979 with her husband Jim Duffy. For more than 30 years, she has overseen production management, scheduling, research, and writing on the company’s television, multimedia, and video projects. She is well versed in a variety of topics including American and world history, science, world travel, military heritage, and geography.

Creative development of unique concepts and ideas for spots, PSAs, and longform projects is another of Kris’ strengths. She personally concepted and wrote more than 800 TV and radio spots under Venture’s extensive contract with the Armed Forces Network, including the most popular campaign in the network’s history, The Great American State Quiz. In addition to television and multimedia programming, Kris has developed interactive exhibitry for the Boynton Beach Children’s Museum, researched and wrote a bio documentary on Abraham Lincoln, and researched and developed content for numerous national park visitor centers across the country.

As producer, Kris has won 15 Addy Awards and 20 Telly Awards, most for her creative work on government spots and longform projects.

Jim Duffy

Jim has a 40+ year background in writing, directing, and television production. He began his career in 1972 as a television news producer, film cameraman, and editor at Miami’s CBS affiliate. In 1979, he was selected as one of three producer/writers to launch the syndicated television series PM Magazine. At the same time he launched Venture Productions (now Venture Media) with his wife Kristina. In directing Venture’s contracts and broadcast projects, Jim has managed production teams as large as 53 creative and technical personnel.

Jim is also a published author. His first two historical novels, Sand of the Arena and The Fight For Rome won rave reviews from critics and the public alike. His third novel, eDream, is a contemporary techno-thriller. In addition, Jim produces live musical concerts. His current productions—This Is The ‘60s and This Is The ‘70s—are the first in a series of unique multimedia “living documentaries” he developed combining live music and dance with vintage pop culture footage from the decades. Both shows are touring nationally.

Among his numerous writing and production awards are an Emmy, six Tellys, ten Addys, and a Photographer of the Year Award from the National Press Photographers Association. Jim was named to the Top 100 Multimedia Producers list by AV/Multimedia Producer Magazine. He is also listed in Who’s Who in Media & Communications.
